General Secretary – Lao Football Federation

Kanya Keomani

Kanya Keomany from Laos, a current General Secretary of the Lao Football Federation and a member of AFC Executive Committee. Educationally, she was a business administration graduate, a bachelor degree at National University of Laos and a master degree at James Cook University in Australia. Professionally, she debuted her career in textile industry, later on combining her educational background in management and passion for sports founding an event organizing company which included sports newspaper, sport magazine where she involved as editor and journalist. Under her management, the company also produced Sport TV programs and activities throughout the country to promote the 25th SEAGames 2009 the largest event to ever Host by the Lao PDR.

Before appointed as the LFF General Secretary, she has involved in football for over a decade by assisting LFF’s football organizing due to her expertise as an AFC Match Commissioner. During this time, she was appointed a Chairperson of LFF Women’s Football Committee and a member of AFC Women’s Football Committee mandated to expand the playing fields for women and girls on and off the pitch. In terms of personal achievement in football, she was selected as AFC Match Commissioner of the Year 2009 and awarded the Most Valuable Sport Person of the Year 2010 by National Olympic Committee and National Sport Committee.
