Presenter – Sky Sports
David Garrido has worked in radio and TV for 20 years. He is currently a Sky Sports presenter, and the latest host of LaLiga programmes in the United Kingdom.
Born to Colombian parents, David studied French and German at the University of Oxford, where he also started broadcasting on student radio. In 2000, when he was 20 years old and still at university, he won the BBC Talent competition which earned him a contract to present sports bulletins on the BBC’s television channels. While at the BBC David covered two World Cups, two Champions League finals, one European Championship and various other events.
In 2011, David moved to Sky as a presenter on Sky Sports News, their 24-hour sports news channel. In 2016, he had the opportunity to present live LaLiga programmes, and in March of this year David launched his own social-and-digital-media content hub on Spanish football in English called “La Liga Lowdown”.
